On 23 September 2022, Boustead DCNS Naval Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (BDNC) signed a Certificate of Collaboration (COC) in-line with Minister of Higher Education (MOHE) on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) aspiration, for the academic and training programme with Politeknik Kota Kinabalu (PKK).
The event was officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education. Joining BDNC for the signing of COC are eight other companies—Ria Academy and Consultancy Sdn. Bhd., Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd., Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company Sdn. Bhd., Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah, KKIP Aerospace Training Centre, Koperasi Wawasan Rakyat Sabah Bhd., AMC College and KKIP Sdn. Bhd.
In his speech, YB Dato’ Dr Ahmad Masrizal said that “With this industry and education institution collaboration, we can reduce our dependency on foreign workers, closing the gap between industry expectations and the qualities of our graduates as well as promoting the TVET as the main choice of education”.
