In recognizing the significance of marine environment towards a healthier community, on 18 August 2022, Olivier Doucy, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Boustead DCNS Naval Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (BDNC) handed over a donation for the upcoming Borneo Ultra Ocean Clean Up 2022 to Dr Hairul Masrini Binti Muhammad, a Senior Lecturer (Pensyarah Kanan) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
Co-organised by Institut Penyelidikan Marin Borneo or IPMB (Borneo Marine Research Institute) of UMS and the Royal Malaysian Navy Submarine Command Headquarters, the Borneo Ultra Ocean Clean Up 2022 will be held on 27 August 2022 at Taman Awam Likas, Kota Kinabalu. This event aimed not only to help clean the beach and ocean but also creating public awareness on the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of our beaches and ocean.
“Everyone is encourage to come and lend a hand in this beach clean-up. Just walk in and join us on that day.” Said Dr Hairul after the mock cheque handover ceremony.
